Antonio Contarini focuses his practice on transactional corporate law and business litigation. A Florida native, he began his legal career representing banks and credit card companies in contract disputes and judgment collections. After pursuing an executive MBA, he entered the corporate world, acting as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for multinational corporations, managing their legal processes domestically and in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. He has also advised clients on business and family immigration matters and visa petitions. Some highlights of his in-house experience include:
• Managed two private equity capital raises and the integration of a strategic acquisition, while liaising with KPMG to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in advance of a contemplated public event for a now, over-the-counter traded, high-level, international, security solutions contractor. He also advised on M&A transactions in Europe, subsidiary creation in the Middle East, and defended a Title VII action, in-house.
• Serviced the transactional legal needs of the various TV, film, mobile, and music subsidiaries for a multinational, South American media conglomerate, during a high-level corporate tax restructuring.
• Spent the greater part of 2011 in Hong Kong, China, and Singapore, collaborating with a Hong Kong-based strategic advisory firm, in a dynamic, cross-functional team setting with investment banks, fund managers, and securities counsel, during a capital raise for a Sino-Australian Real Estate Investment Trust.
• Created and managed the legal departments of the domestic headquarters and international subsidiaries for a Miami-based cellular phone manufacturer and distributor. He also counseled the shareholders and senior management through a period of storied growth, where revenues increased from $334M to $1B, while coordinating the legal processes for the Asian subsidiaries (China and Hong Kong) and distribution hubs in Mexico, the Caribbean, and LATAM.
In joining AXS Law Group, PLLC, Antonio has returned to private practice to advise the Firm’s clients in navigating the complex corporate and legal landscape. Antonio received his Bachelor in Business Administration in International Business from the University of North Florida, a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami.
